Type of Dive: A very easy shore dive and wreck dive at Puffin dive centre near Oban. Having all the facilities you need for a diving weekend in one place is rare and so makes for a very good dive trip.

Travel directions: From the north entering Oban on the A85 (Main road along the seafront) past the pier and turn left into Stevenson street, at the first roundabout turn right into Albany street it changes names to Alma crescent then Gallanach road for 2 miles and you will see Puffin dive centre on your right.
Parking directions: There is a large free carpark opposite Puffin dive centre with a handy toilet block. (white building)

Site entry/exit: The entry/exit could not be easier its a gentle slope down the slipway. There is also a freshwater rinsing tank at the top of the slip which is great for rinsing the dive kit before putting it in the car.
Underwater directions: Gallanach Bay is easy to navigate by swimming west out from the slip over sand and shingle with kelp to around 8m and then turning south until you hit the reef. Explore the reef then return east to get back to shore. It's a long reef so there is plenty to explore and common sightings include octopus, crabs, nudibranchs and lobster.
Air & Nitrox: Puffin dive centre Self-fill coin operated £5 per fill regardless of cylinder size which is very good for fills when the dive centre is closed.
Site Hazards: Occasional boat traffic, SMB advised.
